Wayne and Traci will be married on May 31, 2003 in a traditional ceremony at Saint Thomas More Catholic Student Parish in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Father Nathan Castle, OP from All Saint's Catholic Newman Center in Tempe, Arizona will be celebrating mass. The couple have chosen readings and music for the ceremony that reflect their feelings for each other.
Wayne and Traci have written their vows and the blessing of their rings from the traditional medieval rites of the Catholic church. The text is below.
Father Nathan: "Will you, Wayne, have this woman to be your wedded wife, to live together after God's ordinance in the holy estate of Matrimony? Will you love her, comfort her, honour and keep her, in sickness and in health; and forsaking all other, keep you only unto her, so long as you both shall live?"
Wayne: "I will."
Father Nathan: "Will you, Traci, have this man to be your wedded husband, to live together after God's ordinance in the holy estate of Matrimony? Will you obey him, and serve him, love, honour and keep him in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all other, keep you only unto him, so long as you both shall live?"
Traci: "I will."
Wayne: "I, Wayne, take you, Traci for my wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, to love, protect and cherish, forsaking all other, for as long as we both shall live, according to God's holy ordinance; and therfore I pledge my love and faith to you."
Traci: "I, Traci, take you, Wayne for my wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, to love, honour and obey, forsaking all other, for as long as we both shall live, according to God's holy ordinance; and therefore I pledge my love and faith to you."
Father Nathan: "Bless these rings, O merciful Lord, that those who wear them, that give and receive them, may be ever faithful to one another, remain in your peace, and live and grow old together in your love, under their own vine and fig tree, and seeing their children's children. Amen."
Wayne: "With this Ring I thee wed, with my body I thee worship, and with all my worldly goods I thee endow; In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen."
Traci: "With this Ring I thee wed, with my body I thee worship, and with all my worldly goods I thee endow; In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen."
